His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Khalid Al-Abdulaali, Assistant Minister of Health for Health Services, received His Excellency Yasunari Morino, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, today at the Ministry of Health headquarters in Riyadh.
During the meeting, they discussed areas of joint cooperation and ways to enhance the partnership between the two countries in the health sector. This partnership aims to contribute to the development of health services, strengthen preventive and advanced curative healthcare, promote digital services, and explore the latest advancements in the use of robotics in healthcare within the Kingdom. They also discussed biotechnology and partnerships in the field of medical devices, all within the framework of the Health Sector Transformation Program stemming from Saudi Vision 2030. During his visit, the Japanese Ambassador was briefed on several leading national health models, including the SEHA Virtual Hospital, where he learned about the digital healthcare system and the virtual services offered. He also visited the National Health Command and Control Center, which focuses on enhancing the readiness of the health sector and strengthening its capabilities in response, early warning, and crisis management. The center has recently achieved recognition for its pioneering role from the World Health Organization.
This visit comes within the framework of strengthening international cooperation, exchanging experiences, and reviewing the Saudi experience in developing the healthcare system and developing strategic partnerships in a way that contributes to supporting health innovation and consolidating the Kingdom’s position as an active partner in the health sector at the global level.
